Therese Johaug or norms

While waiting for her announced triumph at the Trondheim World Cup, the goddess of cross-country skiing, the legendary Therese Johaug, in chamois style, dynamited her rivals on the climb to Alpe Cermis, the final stage of the Tour de Ski.

Untouchable in her favorite exercise, the Norwegian won the Montée de l’Alpe Cermis for the 9th time in her career and the Tour de Ski for the 4th time, equaling Justyna Kowalczyk’s record in the process.

With her small size, despite her 36 years, Therese Johaug cleared the percentages of the slope with disconcerting ease before winning, certainly with a smaller lead than in her prime.

Having come to win the Tour and reassure herself, she will now concentrate on the Trondheim world championships with the desire, no longer to win the 50km, but quite simply to pocket all the distance titles, she is very capable.

The Norwegians took turns winning

While three quarters of their Swedish rivals are destroying their discipline by preferring training to the biggest race on the calendar, Therese Johaug and her teammates this time respected the discipline.

Astrid Slind, who is living her best life at 36, finishes 2nd in the Tour and in the stage. Heidi Weng, another well-rounded thirty-something, placed 3rd in the stage and 5th in the Tour, soon approaching 120 World Cup podiums.

And to do things well we find the unexpected Nora Sanness in 4th place on this terrible final climb.

Jessie Diggins, World Cup leader, who overcame foot pain in recent days, completes the podium for this 2025 Tour by finishing 3rd, 2min41 behind Therese Johaug.

Kerttu Niskanen, Heidi Weng, Ebba Andersson, Teresa Stadlober, Krista Parmakoski, Kristin Fosnaes and Nora Sanness follow au classification.

Note that only 31 cross-country skiers complete the 2025 Tour, hoping that this will be the last organized in the absence of the Russian teams, which are sorely lacking in this discipline.
