Urgent: The Ministry of Health warns against health rumors
The Tunisian Ministry of Health called, this Sunday, January 5, 2025, on citizens to be vigilant in the face of rumors and to only trust official press releases issued by its services. This declaration comes in a press release reassuring Tunisians about the health situation linked to seasonal respiratory diseases.
The ministry clarified that the viruses circulating during this time of year are known and not worrying. They correspond to the usual seasonal viruses seen in many countries around the world, including Tunisia. There is currently no indication of a serious public health threat or widespread spread.
The ministry said it monitors the health situation on a daily basis at national and international levels, in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO). He also highlighted the existence of a response plan ready to be activated in the event of a possible pandemic, thus guaranteeing the protection of public health.
The ministry urged citizens to adhere to recommended preventive measures, especially for the most vulnerable groups, such as infants, children, the elderly and those with chronic illnesses. He also stressed the importance of annual vaccination against seasonal respiratory diseases to boost immunity and prevent infections.
Faced with seasonal health challenges, the ministry reiterated the importance of following prevention advice and referring only to official sources of information. He assured his commitment to protecting the health of citizens and guaranteeing the safety of all.
