After the first run of the women’s giant slalom at the Ski World Cup in Kranjska Gora, the fourth of the season, Sweden’s Sara Hector is clearly in command in 58.05. Behind her Lara Colturi, the young Italian who represents Albania, in 59.18 and the Norwegian Thea Stjernsund in 59.24.
The best Italian – on a very selective track, with an icy and slippery surface as well as lots of bumps and a track that turns a lot – is Sofia Goggia, 12th in 1.00.14 with bib 16. Her first run was a solid performance upon his return to this discipline after eleven months and the serious injury last February. Federica Brignone left the race, having arrived at this race with the red bib of leader of the discipline but who left just before halfway through the track, even though she was already 69 hundredths behind. The Italian leaned too much in a right turn after a big frozen bump, and went off the track.
