Storm Floriane began to sweep part of France this Monday. While a dozen departments are on orange alert due to the wind on an axis going from Vendée to the Ardennes, to which are added the Rhône and the Loire, it is an even larger part of the territory which is affected by strong gusts of wind and which is placed on yellow alert.
At dawn, 100 km/h were regularly reached, or even exceeded, along the coasts, notably at Cherbourg (Manche), at Ouessant (Finistère) and at Cap Gris-Nez (Pas-de-Calais). The storm then moved inland and crossed Île-de-France in particular at midday. A second “peak wind” is expected “at the end of the morning/midday of Monday”, warned Météo France, before the storm shifts towards Belgium.
Due to the passage of the storm, the SNCF took preventive measures. She announced traffic restrictions, speed reductions and preventive service cancellations in the departments concerned.
The Minister of the Economy Éric Lombard confirmed this Monday morning on France Inter the drop in the Livret A rate by 0.5 points from February 1 due to the slowdown in inflation. It will go from 3% to 2.5%. The official decision is expected to come on January 15.
