Nominated in ten categories, the film “Emilia Perez” by Jacques Audiard was awarded at the Golden Globes on Sunday January 5 in Los Angeles. “The Substance”, by Coralie Fargeat was also in the spotlight.
The feature film “Emilia Perez“, directed by French filmmaker Jacques Audiard, won the Golden Globe for best comedy or musical as well as best foreign language film on Sunday in Beverly Hills, near Los Angeles.
During the ceremony, a traditional prelude to the Oscars, Zoe Saldana was crowned best supporting actress for her performance in “Emilia Perez”, in which she plays a lawyer who will help the leader of a Mexican cartel to change his life and gender. “My heart is filled with gratitude to the Golden Globes for celebrating our film”said the actress, moved to tears, after receiving her award on stage, thanking her acting partners and her director. The film also won the prize for best song (“El Mal”, written by singer Camille and Clément Ducol).
The Golden Globe for best dramatic film was awarded to “The Brutalist“, which tells the story of a Holocaust survivor in search of the American dream and whose main actor (Adrian Brody) and the director (Brady Corbet) were also awarded. Demi Moore won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for her role in “The Substance“, directed by the French filmmaker Coralie Fargeat.
