the essential
The town of Bressols (Tarn-et-Garonne) is mobilizing to find a rehousing solution for the father and son whose house burned down on New Year’s Eve. A solidarity sale will take place on Sunday January 5, during the weekly market.
Emotions are still running high in the housing estate of rue des Tilleuls in Bressols (Tarn-et-Garonne), where a major fire broke out on New Year’s Day in an individual residence.
In the street, a warning sign was installed around the house which was completely destroyed by the flames, and a municipal decree was posted calling for the greatest vigilance in the face of imminent danger.

“The situation is complicated, we must above all ensure the safety of the nearby neighborhood,” Mayor Jean-Louis Ibres tells us on site. Since Wednesday, it has been a particularly fragile context for Jean-François and Christian Cazanaves, the occupants of this house which is normally so quiet.
“The municipality relocated the son to the Kyriad hotel in Albasud, while the father has just left the hospital after the burns he suffered,” says Catherine Madueno, deputy mayor in charge of social affairs. And added: “We have contacted various competent services in order to consider rehousing as quickly as possible.”
Sunday solidarity sale
Quickly, the municipality reacted in order to help the two occupants to be able to bounce back: “We have increased the number of calls, but we have no vacant housing, neither in Bressols, nor in Montauban”, underlines the vice-president of the CCAS . We will therefore have to work hard to move the file forward.
Moreover, this Sunday, January 5, members of the municipal social action center will be present at the Bressols market, from 9:30 a.m. “We are mobilizing to sell treats and generate a little profit that we will donate to the family , in order to help him in his efforts.”
Crepes, cakes, confections which will have a very particular flavor, to probably help the victims to buy furniture and essential effects.
For the neighborhood, this event aroused fear, and it will take time to digest the episode: “We were really hot, it was a dangerous situation and we were ultimately very lucky,” commented the residents. The Bressols town hall is therefore launching a call for mobilization on Sunday morning, to combine business with pleasure.
