The Miallet dam was put into service in 1993 and the 5 million m³ reservoir has enabled the flow of the river to be supported for more than 30 years. Dronemainly to compensate for irrigation withdrawals.

The prefectural decree authorizing destocking – water releases – to support low water levels is expiring. In order to renew this authorization, the Department has initiated a study aimed at defining the new management model for the reservoir and taking into consideration future issues and needs, particularly those linked to climate change.

In order to prepare to better manage the resource, the study will take stock of the 30 years of operation of the reservoir with a view to providing food for thought on the creation of a low flow support system in the watershed of the reservoir. 'Isle.

The carrying out of the study to define the new reservoir management model was entrusted to the group of design offices EAUCEA and IREEDD, for an amount of €74,370 including tax and an overall duration of 16 months.

The next meeting of the Steering Committee will be held at the beginning of April 2025 to validate the first phase of the study.
