It is a custom that has lasted for years in Blainville-Crevon (Seine-Maritime), and which had been put in place by the former mayor, Jean-Bernard Dupressoir, now deceased: he had in fact taken the habit to organize the vows ceremony, before ChristmasL. His successor, Philippe Picard, maintained the tradition and this Friday, December 20, 2024, an astonishing announcement was made to residents.

Sensational news

In fact, Santa Claus came a little early this year to the town hall of Blainville-Crevon. For good reason, a resident, and in this case the wife of the former mayor, decided to donate the tidy sum of 80,000 euros to the municipality.

The mayor of the town said:

I didn't know what to say, I was a little embarrassed by this gift.

As for the donor, she confided to us in all modesty, after the wish ceremony, that she felt “indebted to the village” and that it was ultimately very natural for her to make this donation. A gesture of great generosityespecially since the sum thus offered to the municipality will make it possible to realize some projects which have been on hold for some time.
