This was one of the questions that could be asked until recently: why did the Maison des Idées wait so long before capitalizing on the success of Deadpool & Wolverine ? At the time of the release of the film Ryan Reynoldsthe publisher had mainly focused on comics dedicated to Logan. Let us think of Wolverine : Deep Cuts of Chris Claremontto the new series of Ben Percy for the period From the Ashes or to Wolverine Revenge of Jonathan Hickman et Greg Capullothe griffu was the big winner in character placement to adapt to the release schedule of Marvel Studios. For his part, Deadpool had especially been entitled to a helping hand, by meeting his indestructible brother in the project Deadpool/Wolverine : World War III of Joe Kelly et Andy Kubert.
And then, looking back
Following the record launch of Deadpool & Wolverinethe publisher has however decided to make up for it. In September, a new title was announced for the start of the year, while the creative team completed the first issues, on the same principle: once again, the Canadian brothers will come together for a common adventure. Ben Percy remains in control with the artist Joshua Cassara on a coloring of Guru-eFX. And if we trust the official press release, it should be a regular series. So at least more than six numbers on the program.
This time, we are promised a major threat and the return of a former adversary likely to tick all the boxes of these two massacre professionals… without further details.
