The bad guys and the seagulls meet at Villa Park on Monday 30 December.

Aston Villa welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Villa Park in their final Premier League match of 2024.

The Villains will be hoping to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Boxing Day. Home form hasn't been a problem for Villa, but on their travels they have struggled.

Before kick-off, it was quite tight between the two teams. Villa are eighth and Brighton 10th with just two points separating them. If Villa manages to win, they could move up to sixth place. Here's the latest injury and team news.

Jhon Duran and Matty Cash are both missing due to suspension but will be out for different periods. Duran was sent off for apparently sending out Fabian Schar. Villa said they would appeal, but they were unsuccessful and as a result he will now serve a three-match ban.

Matty Cash, on the other hand, received a yellow card, his fifth of the campaign. As a result, he will be out for one match, as players who receive five yellow cards up to and including the 19th match of the campaign are banned.

Jacob Ramsey remains uncertain but is doing his best to make the team. He has been out for more than a month with a hamstring injury, but has trained normally and could enter Unai Emery's consideration.

In his pre-match press conference, Emery said: “He's close to being part of the team, being available to play.

“We are preparing Saturday and Sunday. The last training he did normally with the team, and I hope he will be in the team for Monday.

Absent: Jhon Duran and Matty Cash. Doubt: Jacob Ramsey.

James Milner hasn't played since late August. A permanent return has not been given for Milner who injured his hamstring during the September international break.

Ferdi Kadioglu and Jack Hinshelwood are slightly doubtful for tonight. Fabian Hurzeler said on December 19: “I hope they will be back soon, and I also have the feeling that they will be back soon.

“But I can’t give you a precise timetable. They're training on the pitch, they're doing rehabilitation and I'm sure it won't take too long.

Evan Ferguson did not play against Brentford on Friday due to injury. His future has been discussed amid talks over a possible loan move. Adam Webster has been absent since the beginning of October but could soon make his return.
