Sentenced to 20 years of criminal imprisonment, Dominique Pelicot has not yet finished with justice. Indicted by the “cold cases” unit, he could be tried for attempted rape in 1999 in Seine-et-Marne, but above all for a rape followed by murder in 1991 in Paristhat of a young 23-year-old real estate agent.
“We are continuing our actions, particularly procedural, since he is indicted […]. And so, we will continue to defend ourselves on this aspect”, said his lawyer, Béatrice Zavarro, guest of RTL this Monday, December 30.
She also claimed that son client “absolutely contests the facts with which he is accused concerning the rape and murder of 1991. Regarding the date on which the trial will take place, she said she did not know: “We know today that the investigation is still ongoing. […] I am unable to answer you in terms of timetable. In any case, if there were to be a trial, it would, in my opinion, obviously be more in 2026.”
