Gal Gadot has revealed she was diagnosed with a “huge” blood clot in her brain while expecting her fourth child.

In March, the Israeli actress announced that she had welcomed a daughter named Ori with her husband Jaron Varsano. This is his fourth daughter after the births of Alma, 13 years old, Maya, 7 years old, and Daniella, 3 years old.

Despite this good news, Gal Gadot explained on Instagram on December 29 (24) that she had experienced a health problem during the third trimester of her last pregnancy.

“In February, during my eighth month of pregnancy, I was diagnosed with a massive blood clot in my brain. For weeks I endured excruciating headaches that confined me to bed, until I finally had an MRI that revealed the terrifying truth,” she wrote in the caption of one photo with her newborn, later noting that this diagnosis had been for her a “stark reminder of how quickly everything can change”.

The star of Wonder Woman was then rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, where she underwent emergency surgery. Her baby was born “during this moment of uncertainty and fear.”

Further in her message, the 39-year-old actress revealed the inspiration behind her youngest’s first name, which means “my light” in Hebrew.

“Before the surgery, I told Jaron that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel,” she explained.

Fortunately, the young mother is now “completely cured”.

If Gal Gadot recounts her misadventure, it is because she hopes that her story will encourage other people to “act for their health”.

“Giving birth is a miracle, a testimony to the strength and resilience of our body and mind. But it also demands a lot from us, reminding us that we must take care of ourselves as ardently as we take care of others,” she emphasized. “As we celebrate Hanukkah, the festival of light and miracles, I think of the personal miracle bestowed upon me. My daughter, Ori, is a constant reminder of the resilience, hope and strength we have within us.”

Gal Gadot and Jaron Varsano have been married since 2008.
