New Prime Video: films and series to watch in streaming in January 2025

A new year is opening before us and with it, its share of films, series and documentaries to discover without delay. That’s good, the Prime Video streaming service has just revealed the list of new products to join its offer in January 2025. A quality arrival, and enough to compare with its rivals Netflix, Disney+ or Max.

We don’t change good habits, and before offering you the complete list of new programs on the Amazon platform, here, in our opinion, is the series and film of the month on the service.

The Prime Video series of the month

On Call

The series follows the work of the Long Beach police in California, through the daily lives of trainer Traci Harmon and her young recruit Alex Diaz.

Presented as “a visceral, adrenaline-filled drama”, this eight-episode series is notably the new creation (with Elliott Wolf) of Tim Walsh, at the helm of the effective and popular Chicago P.D. et Hightown. Its inspired production – mixing dash-camera and bodycam – creates a beautiful immersion, and if its story does not revolutionize the genre, On Call will undoubtedly satisfy fans of nervous detective series.

Starting January 9 on Prime Video.

When two weddings are accidentally scheduled on the same day at the same venue, each wedding couple is challenged to preserve their family’s special moment while making the most of the unexpectedly tight venue. The father of the bride and the sister of the other bride will compete to maintain an unforgettable celebration for their loved ones.

Reese Whiterspoon (Blonde’s Revenge, Big Little Lies) et Will Ferrell (Anchorman, Elf) who rage against the backdrop of a wedding, to create jubilant chaos: who doesn’t want to see that? Especially when this happy mess is signed by the screenwriter and director Nicholas Stoller, already behind the successful Without Sarah, nothing works! et The Muppets, the return.
