Let’s not forget that the iPhone 16 Pro also has the ability to record 4K videos at 120 fps in Slow Motion or Video mode. How did Apple test these functions before releasing its smartphones? A CNET journalist was able to visit the usually secret laboratory of the American company.
Apple shows the secret rooms where the iPhone 16 Pro was tested
Journalist Patrick Holland from CNET was able to go to the Apple Park based in Cupertino to discover the anechoic chamber in which the iPhone 16 Pro was tested. This room, also called an anechoic room, has walls capable of absorbing sound waves and therefore eliminating any echo.

To test the iPhone 16 Pro’s microphones, a set of speakers is mounted on an arc-shaped pipe that runs from the mesh floor to the chamber’s ceiling. The speakers play chime sounds, and engineers measure what the iPhone 16 Pro’s microphones, mounted on a swivel base, pick up.
There is also a video verification laboratory in which there is a cinema screen within Apple Park. « We use this theater to tune video playback experiences so that when you play these videos in a dark room, in an office, or even under the sun, you get the same perceptual experience as if you were watching a video in the theater “, says Sean Yang, director of video engineering at Apple.
