The timing may not be ideal, but the decision seemed difficult to make no matter the moment: after many years of collaboration, the SM Caen has officially decided to stop collaborating with his lifelong player and coach, Nicolas Seube. Arriving from Caen after a very complicated phase in the championship, Nicolas Seube is the third coach to be dismissed from his duties in Ligue 2 in 2024-2025, after Thierry Laurey () and Oswald Tanchot ().

« After a year spent at the head of the professional team, Stade Malherbe Caen has decided to end its collaboration with Nicolas Seube. Coach since last December, the most capped player in the history of SM Caen will have led 44 matches on the bench of the “rouge et bleu”.
