In total, 18 awards will be presented this Wednesday January 1, 2025 during the first edition of the “Bravos d’or”, broadcast on France 2 from 9:05 p.m. This brand new ceremony, co-presented by Nagui and Leïla Kaddour-Boudadi, will celebrate the greatest cultural successes of the year 2024.
“No nominees, no jury, just an acknowledgment of success”
But be careful, it's not really a ceremony like we're used to seeing. “It is not a ranking, there are no nominees, there is no jury, there is an assessment of success“, explained the host in mid-December during a press conference in which Puremédias participated. All the winners of the evening were designated by objective criteria, namely cinema admissions for cinema, sales figures for books, downloads for streaming, Médiamétrie for TV and radio audiences… “No results are subject to discussion, debate, connivance, lobbying or any influence whatsoever.“, sweeps Nagui, who promises”surprises” in the winners.

Because he already knows who the winners are, since the ceremony was recorded at the beginning of December at the Marigny theater in Paris. Why not choose live for such an event? Difficult to bring together the elite of culture on January 1st, we are told. But the production, orchestrated by the very experienced Gérard Pulliccino, ensured that the show was shot like a sequence shot, “with a single camera, which will wander throughout the theater, as if the viewer were part of the audience“, explains Nagui. Wasn't he afraid of possible leaks on the prize list, from the invited public for example? “There are those who are afraid of leaks, there are those who manage them to create a buzz, and there are those who suffer from them. Honestly, if there is a leak to say that the most viewed film of the year 2024 is that of Artus, I will not have a huge depression“, jokes the host of “Taratata”.
A “chic and popular” ceremony
Discreet on the guest set, the duo of presenters nevertheless confided that the director of “Un p'tit truc en plus” would be present with the film team. “And the first thing Artus said, and they all said, was: 'This is our first prize'”, says the host with emotion. For the award ceremony, no envelope, no presenter, but rather exchanges between the presenters and the winners. “The winners of the trophy speak with us on stage, answer questions, react with the public and it results in something much more lively and less austere.“, justifies Nagui.
This ceremony, the two animators wanted it “chic and popular“. “The idea was to do something transversal, general, to say well done, you have reached the audience you want. And being popular is not a bad word. Populist, yes popular, no“, specifies Nagui. “It's both chic because we're in a theater and the trophy is gold“, he adds. The latter represents two hands, a woman's hand and a man's hand, applauding. It was made by the Macheret art foundry, located in Le Mans. For Leïla Kaddour-Boudadi, this ceremony is “a photograph of France in 2024” due to the diversity of the winners and the genres rewarded.
A category does not yet have a winner
Only one reward remains secret for the moment, because it will be the common thread of the show: the “Special Bravo of the year 2024”, which will crown the personality having collected the most votes on the internet. For several weeks, a list of men and women who shone this year, in all fields combined, was submitted to votes by Internet users. The ten most popular personalities will be mentioned throughout the show. “We add it with a video effect in post-production“, explains Nagui, since the results of the votes were known after the filming of “Bravos d'or”. As for the big winner of this category, he will be the only one not to come on stage to collect his prize. “It will be revealed on television. It was to give a little spice and twist“, continues the host. “And the price to pay, in fact, is that the person is not on the stage, that we do not give him the trophy. But we preferred the surprise and this suspense, rather than making it come“, assumes Nagui before concluding with a laugh: “And above all, we saved a taxi, a glass of champagne and 15 minutes of makeup!”
