A police officer was slightly injured after being hit by firework mortars this Tuesday, December 31 in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). The events took place around 11:30 p.m., in the Ariane district.
During this New Year's Eve, other incidents were reported in Nice. Fireworks mortar fire targeted the municipal police at Maccario, Gassin and Turin streets, without causing any injuries. Fireworks were also observed on Boulevard Louis-Braille and Rue Trachel.
Two knife attacks
Two trash fires were reported in the evening, rue Maccario and avenue Henry-Dunant, while a motorcycle and cars were burned.
In the rest of the department, a man was treated with a life-threatening condition after being attacked with a knife, around 2:45 a.m., in Cannes. His alleged assailant was arrested.
Another man was arrested in Saint-Laurent-du-Var for stab wounds in front of the town's train station.
