3rd edition of “golden feathers”: The nominees are known

The 3rd edition of the “Pumes d’or” book trophy ceremony will take place on Friday November 29, 2024 at CENASA under the theme “Resilience”. The ceremony will consist of trophy presentations, writing workshops, artist performances and a fashion show.

Youssouf Ouédraogo, general commissioner of “Pumes d’or” recalled that it is an event which aims to highlight African writers. This ceremony of distinction for book authors is a biennial.

Also, he indicated that in addition to the trophies of distinction, a nod will be made to pay tribute to the writers who have marked the history of Burkinabe and African literature. These include, among others, Nazi Boni, Patrick G. Ilboudo and Bernadette Tiendrébéogo.

However, he clarified that the holding of the round table was postponed until the 4^e edition. “ For this year, we gave a nod to budding authors by establishing an activity that we called young African book talents. It is an activity which consists of young authors who have not yet published applying with texts », specified Youssouf Ouédraogo.

One week before the event, Oumarou Ouédraogo, commissioner in charge of juries and prizes, specified that the various works have been completed. He revealed the list of different nominees. Thus, in the Plume d’or category, Elisé Sorgho with “ the end of the tunnel and the prodigal son », Etienne Nicolas Kiba with his work « Me, the witch and Elimane » and finally Régis Kévin Bakyono with “ the signature and if the victim became a judge! » are the nominees.

As a reminder, for this third edition, the general commission of the “golden feathers” recorded 61 applications including 08 in the PLUME D’OR category, 10 in the Poetry category, 18 in the Novel category, 07 in the short story category, 04 in the Story category, 05 in the Best Young Writer category, 05 in the Best Literary Revelation category and 04 in the Best Female Literary Publication category.
