More than 50,000 homes were without electricity on Thursday November 21 at midday due to the Caetano storm, reports Enedis to franceinfo.
The most affected regions are Pays de la Loire, with 11,500 households affected, Normandy with 10,000 households, Brittany and its 9,000 customers affected as well as Poitou-Charentes with 7,000 households without electricity.
“The electricity distribution network faces strong winds and (sticky) snowfall which causes trees or branches to fall on the cables,” specifies Enedis. The network manager mobilized, as of Wednesday, 1,000 Enedis employees and 400 employees of service providers.
“The reinforcements will be made available to the most affected regions as part of the FIRE (Rapid Electricity Intervention Force) when traffic conditions allow them to travel”explains Enedis.
