The case of Sébastien Leduc, accused of having caused the death of a man during a general fight which took place in March at the strip bar the O’Gascon Gentlemen Club, in Terrebonne, briefly returned to court at the palace of justice of Laval, Friday October 11.
The parties have agreed to meet again on Tuesday, November 12, with the aim of setting the date for the preliminary investigation.
The facts with which he is accused occurred around 2:30 a.m. on March 22, at the O’Gascon bar in Terrebonne, while a general fight broke out in the bar. According to witnesses, bottles of alcohol and chairs were thrown in all directions.
Sébastien Leduc, 25, injured during the events, was arrested two days later upon leaving the Pierre-Le Gardeur hospital center to be accused of the second degree murder of Jessy Furtado-Bénard, 32, killed by a stabbing weapon.
The latter, well known to the police and associated with organized crime, is considered to have been close to the boss Jean-Philippe Célestin, whose younger brother was killed in February in Montreal.
A month later, the door to Sébastien Leduc’s home, in Sainte-Rose, was riddled with bullets during the night. No one had been injured.
The accused, who has a criminal record for assault, carrying weapons and armed assault, is detained for further proceedings.
He must be present by videoconference on Tuesday, November 12, at the Laval courthouse.
