Currently without a club, Jorge Sampaoli would like to return to France.
Former coach of Olympique de Marseille, Jorge Sampaoli then embarked on a world tour. After the Marseille city, the Argentinian technician left for Sevilla FC. But the 64-year-old did not establish himself in Spain and was fired in March 2023.
A month later, he went to Brazil and took charge of Flamengo. But here too, Sampaoli did not last and gave up quite quickly. Free for a year, the former Chile coach would like to return to Ligue1.
L’Team reveals that at the end of 2023, he discussed with Olympique Lyonnais. If the Argentinian technician was unable to take the place of Pierre Sage, he also did not take over from Paulo Fonseca who left for AC Milan. And yet, it was more with Lille that the discussions were more serious.
To return to France, Jorge Sampaoli refused an offer from Genoa, currently 18th in Serie A.
