A 28-year-old man was shot and killed in the rear parking lot of a building located on Daniel-Johnson Boulevard, facing Carrefour Laval, around 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 10.
While responding to a 911 call reporting a man hit by several projectiles behind 2540 Daniel-Johnson Boulevard, just north of Le Carrefour Boulevard, patrol officers from the Laval Police Service (SPL) first attempted resuscitation maneuvers, near the victim’s vehicle.
However, he was pronounced dead some time after being transported to a hospital.
This is the fifth homicide to occur in Laval in 2024.
The victim is a man named Kevin Calderon and would have led a lifestyle that few cryptocurrency experts can afford according to the information that has circulated so far.
Start of investigation
Quickly, due to possible links with organized crime, although the victim was not known to the police to date, major crime investigators from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) took over from those of the SPL, who nevertheless continues to collaborate on this matter.
As late as the morning of Friday October 11, an SPL command post remained on site.
Any information that could help advance the investigation can be communicated, confidentially, to the SQ Criminal Information Center by telephone at 1 800 659-4264 or by email at [email protected].
