LThe investigation continues in Switzerland to determine the circumstances of Muriel Furrer’s fatal fall during the Cycling World Championships. The 18-year-old Swiss died a week ago, the day after a heavy fall in the junior race. While on Monday the police explained in a press release that there were no witnesses to the accident, the local press indicated the opposite.
The Swiss daily Blick reconstructed the course of this race and according to its research, Furrer was in a small group when she fell on the descent of Schmalzgrueb in a slight left turn. The tragic accident occurred between 11:03 and 11:04 a.m. according to images taken by a journalist who was 400 meters from the scene of the tragedy.
