The Canton of Friborg Innovation Prize is getting a new look. Now called IFF Prize, for Friborg Freiburg Innovation Prize, the competition has cash rewards totaling 50,000 francs.

The latter is divided between the IFF Start-up Prize of 30,000 francs, the IFF Enterprise Prize of 10,000 francs and the IFF Sustainability Prize of 10,000 francs. The new formula was presented on Wednesday by the State of Fribourg, via the Economic Promotion of the canton of Friborg, and the Cantonal Bank of Friborg (BCF).

Applications must be submitted until June 30, the press release specifies. The jury, chaired by State Councilor Olivier Curty, in charge of the economy, is made up of representatives from the economy and higher education institutions. It will designate nine finalist companies, or three companies for each of the three prizes.

For the first time, the awards ceremony will be broadcast live on La Télé on November 6. The competition is open to any company established in the canton of Fribourg. Registrations are open
