The Jandri, star of the ski lifts

In terms of investments, Sata Group Aeon is hitting very hard this winter. It is in Oisans that we have invested the most in the mountains: €148 million. The operator of L’Alpe d’Huez, des Deux Alpes and La Grave wins the title of leading investor in the French Alps. This winter 2024/25 promises to be great for its CEO, Fabrice Boutet.

This winter, the place to be for skiing is Oisans?

“I’m not going to tell you otherwise! We have real and beautiful new proposals both in comfort, in the speed of reaching our peaks and in the capacity to welcome all of our customers.”

More than a lift, the Jandri, according to you, is it an experience?

“It’s a world first, designed to last the next 50 years. Seven pylons instead of 17 over 6.4 km, this is a technical feat unrivaled to this day. And then with a capacity of 3,000 people/hour, we reduce the waiting time and the journey, 17 minutes instead of 40 to reach 3,200 m.”

This 3S completes a long restructuring project of the estate lasting almost 3 years?

“We will have redone the Super Venosc gondola, three telemixes Les Diables, Belle Étoile and Vallée Blanche, an abandoned sector where we created a green slope, and reviewed all the learning areas at the bottom of the resort.”

Now it’s Alpe d’Huez’s turn?

“€120 million will be committed across the entire area. We attacked the construction site of the Pic Blanc gondola. The backbone of Alpe d’Huez, like Jandri for Les Deux Alpes. This lift will be completely redesigned. All the mechanics have been renovated. This winter, we are tackling the modernization of station 1, the other two will follow next winter to facilitate boarding, and new gondolas 54 instead of 51 (with 20 seats including 10 seats) will replace the old ones. .
