In Quebec, the Great National Day Show is still scheduled for 9 p.m. on the Plains of Abraham. However, the first part which was to be provided by Zébulon is canceled, announced the Mouvement national des Québécoises et Québécois in a press release.

“Come in large numbers! It will be one of the booziest parties”

The musical festivities will be presented under the direction of Antoine Gratton. Among the guest artists, we find Marie-Annick Lépine, Patrice Michaud, Paul Daraîche, Les Louanges, Ariane Roy, Waahli, Beatrice Deer, Matiu, Laurence Nerbonne, Mitsou, and Galant, tu perds ton temps.

Fourteen other artists are expected in the lineup, including a dance troupe. In addition, the spokesperson for the event, Benoît McGinnis, will deliver a “patriotic” speech. Among the surprises, there will be tributes to artists who died in the last year.

Umbrellas will exceptionally be allowed on the site. “Put on your raincoat and your pride in your heart and come in large numbers, it will be a memorable evening,” we said in a press release.

Elsewhere in Quebec

Montréal-Nord is holding a big National Day show with Brigitte Boisjoli at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Aimé-Léonard Park.

The Big Show A chance we have is scheduled for June 24 at Maisonneuve Park in Montreal. Hosted by Pierre-Yves Lord, the event will welcome on stage Claude Dubois, Roxane Bruneau, Patsy Gallant, Queenie, Daniel Lavoie, Kanen, Éléonore Lagacé, Judi Richards, Fouki, and Le Vent du Nord.

Downtown Sherbrooke is overflowing with free activities for the whole family during the Saint-Jean long weekend. The first shows of the Concerts de la Cité series were presented at the Granada Theater on Friday and the national holiday will be marked on Monday, with among others a show by Marjo.

However, several municipalities have decided to cancel their festivities due to the rain forecast for Sunday in the south of the province. This is particularly the case for the City of L’Assomption.

“Mother Nature has decided to play spoilsport. Due to the rain and the threat of thunderstorms, all activities surrounding the National Day are canceled today,” the Facebook page said.

The City of Laval cancels the Qualité Motel show, scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Sunday. The big National Day spectacle is being maintained and could be brought forward, we add.
