The program of Clermont Foot preparation matches

Eight friendly matches will be on the program for the Clermont Foot players who began a new era this Monday, July 1, under the rule of Sébastien Bichard, now the sole head coach.

Before embarking on this tough marathon that is Ligue 2, Clermont Foot will play eight preparation matches spread over seven dates. Indeed, during the last round, two matches (with two separate groups) are planned behind closed doors against Rodez on August 10 in a location that remains to be determined.

Clermont Foot: no less than ten players absent from the resumption of training and placed in a “loft”

After its immutable internship at Chambon-sur-Lignon during the second week of July, Clermont will play a first friendly match on July 13 against an opponent still unknown and in a location which remains to be determined. Only two dates are still unused, with that of July 31.

Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 on the program

Otherwise, Clermont will face AS Saint-Etienne on Saturday, July 20 at Le Puy (6 p.m.) in a Massot stadium that will certainly be full. Four days later, on July 24, CF63 will face another Ligue 1 opponent, Le Havre. The venue for the match has not yet been decided, but we remember that the two teams faced each other in Orléans last season around the same time. This week of three matches will end on Saturday, July 27 against Annecy (venue still to be determined).

Then there will be a final round in July (31st) (opponent and venue to be decided). At the beginning of August (3rd), it is planned to cross swords with the Girondins de Bordeaux in Brive.

Finally, one week before the resumption of the championship, on August 10, there will be a double confrontation behind closed doors against Rodez between two neighbors who know and like each other. The location remains to be defined, but it will necessarily be between the two cities.

It should be noted that in its preparation, and apart from the two opponents that remain to be found, Clermont currently only has opponents from Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 on its menu. This was a wish of the new coach, Sébastien Bichard. Afterwards, it will be time to get down to business…
