Around 40 people gathered this Monday 1is July, at 11 a.m., in front of the general management of the Bordeaux University Hospital, in Talence. Two banners had been unfurled: “Stop union repression” and “Stop mistreatment of agents (es)”. This action was organized at the call of the Sud, FO and CGT unions. “The words are very strong, but we really want to say them,” notes Gilbert Mouden, from Sud Santé Sociaux, staff representative at the Bordeaux University Hospital.

At midday, four ambulance drivers from the Bordeaux Smur were summoned, agents who, according to him, “reported malfunctions in their service”. Their mobilized colleagues feared that this would lead to “a forced transfer”. Those concerned have decided on their fate. “They are assigned from July 2 to the ambulance pool, but they no longer belong to the Smur service,” reports the union representative, who is a nurse anesthetist. Pool means replacement service. They took the blow. I have worked with most of them for twenty years. They are paramedics who are efficient in their work, who know how to drive an emergency vehicle in very complicated traffic conditions, without putting us in danger. And they bring real added value to patient care. »

Two versions

The version presented by the director of human resources at the Bordeaux University Hospital differs. “Following reports from both the medical team, the paramedical management team and testimonies from team members, who brought to our attention behavioral problems that had persisted over time, we chose this change of assignment, which is not a disciplinary sanction,” says Matthieu Girier. All of this “without impact on their responsibilities or their pay.”

A clarification: “The ambulance pool is a unit of agents who come to reinforce the teams when needed and who replace absentees.” They will be likely to go to work in the patient transport department, at the Xavier-Arnozan hospital, at the Haut-Lévêque hospital or in “their current department”, the Smur. “This is a false trial based on the feelings of a few agents,” he reacts to the banners. On the contrary, there is, according to him, “the development of a certain number of actions in favor of benevolence.”
