Isère was transformed into a large wind tunnel this Monday, November 25. Since Sunday evening, the department has been placed on orange alert for strong winds by Météo France. The Prefecture of Isère urges caution, especially road users “due to the risk of falling tree branches and vehicle skidding”.
Strong winds again until Monday evening
On The Météo Centre-Isère readings at midday confirm these forecasts: Gusts of 114km/h were recorded in Bourgoin-Jallieu. In the Lyon basin, near the Bron-Parilly racecourse, the wind even rose to 142km/h.
These violent winds which sweep across Isère are generated by a “generalized southerly wind episode” in connection with depression Bert details the Prefecture of Isère. The phenomenon must continue until the evening of Monday, November 25. Météo France plans to downgrade Isère to yellow vigilance for wind from 6 p.m.
