Berrichonne de Châteauroux: resumption of training postponed

No news of the call. On Wednesday June 26, the DNCG demoted the Berrichonne de Châteauroux to National 2. Since then, the club has been waiting for the registered letter which should detail the observations of the DNCG motivating this decision. Nothing having reached the headquarters, it is the most total vagueness concerning the current situation of the club. Berri wants to appeal but must wait to learn more to finalize the case. The call has therefore not yet been able to be sent to Paris, we will undoubtedly have to wait several days for a new summons.

No letter from the DNCG

What we believe we know is that the DNCG will demand the repayment and not the spreading of the debt (around €2 million). Is the management able to find this sum in such a short time? Can and does the partner Arena Events, revealed on the day of the summons to the DNCG, increase its stake? Are other sponsors able to contribute to helping the Berrichonne? The future of the club will undoubtedly depend on the answers to these questions.

Red Blue Angels support management

Jerome Champigny, president of the supporters’ club, the Red Blue Angels, wanted to send a message of support to Benjamin Gufflet: “If he had not taken over the club, Berrichonne would have filed for bankruptcy. Everyone knew that the file would be complicated, the current concern, in my opinion, is that the former managers and owners of the club made promises to the DNCG which were never kept. The DNCG has been suspicious ever since and has seriously punished us by asking for additional guarantees to trust the new management. I find it a shame that no partner from Indre is mobilizing for the survival of the Berrichonne de Châteauroux in National. »

Jason Gnakpa requested

The leaders are not, however, sitting idly by. The Jason Gnakpa track is notably activated. The player, under elite contract last season at Châteauroux, automatically turns pro. He represents great potential for resale and Ligue 2 clubs are said to be interested: Nicolas Usaï’s FC Pau, SM Caen… even Estac. The link with Troyes would come from Antoine Sibierski who, as anticipated by the NR last week, will sign with the Aube club. Estac recruits Sibierski in a role of sporting director (which he held at Lens in 2012-2013), the coach remaining David Guion.

If Troyes (relegated to National) resumed training this Monday 1is July, Berrichonne, which was to imitate it on Wednesday July 3, postpones its own, probably until next week. It could not be otherwise when there is no coach, only a handful of players under contract (1) and no guarantee of being able to line up in the championship.

Discussions are underway with coaches, in the event of a return to National validated by the DNCG. The names of Jaroslav Plasil (42 years old), Czech international player but beginner coach, or Régis Brouard (57 years old) are thus mentioned among others. La Berri tries to move forward despite everything but the lack of visibility remains significant.

(1) Adama Mbengue, Rémy Duterte, Hugo Colella, Mustapha Fall, François Mendy, Jason Gnakpa and Théo James Michel.

Considered as future coach of Martigues (promoted to L2 if agreement by the DNCG), the former coach of Berri, Mathieu Chabert will finally sign up for two years at AC Ajaccio (maintained in L2 if agreement by the DNCG) .

FC Rouen tackles DNCG

If Berrichonne is waiting for explanations from the DNCG, at FC Rouen, they are being very virulent with the financial policeman of French football. The file presented by the new buyers of the Rouen club, the owner Tarkan Ser and the president Iwan Postel, was rejected last Thursday by the DNCG which pronounced a demotion to N2. Our colleagues at Paris-Normandie collected the reactions of Iwan Postel, wound up like a cuckoo… “It is a shameful, calamitous decision, which has absolutely no basis. There is no accounting or economic logic that can justify it. It is even an insult to the accounting profession, to sport, to football and to those who want to believe that the DNCG makes reasoned decisions.”

A sum of €2.2 million paid into an account other than that of the club would be the cause of the problem. Successor to the contested Charles Maarek, Iwan Postel warns: “If there is nothing happening on the other side – and I think nothing will happen because the DNCG thinks itself above the law – we will give up, I will resign. It is not Maarek, it is not the Metropolis or the Town Hall which will have sunk the club, it is the DNCG, and it alone, which will have sunk the club. » Not sure that this is the best way to convince the body…
