The Christmas holidays are coming to an end, and as soon as we hope for the Happy New Year 2025, it is already time for many employees to return to the office. Rest assured, however, the 2025 calendar is conducive to vacations. By taking just 25 days off, it will be possible to benefit from 59 days of rest in total, two more than in 2024. Here are the best techniques to lengthen the bridges and make the most of long weekends.
As always, it is interesting to take your RTT or paid leave days around public holidays and weekends to afford longer breaks. The good news this year is that all public holidays fall on weekdays, with the exception of November 1st which falls on a Saturday.
Without even needing to install anything, employees who do not work weekends will already be able to take advantage of several long weekends. Those of April 19 and 20, thanks to Easter Monday, April 21, and of June 7 and 8, thanks to Pentecost Monday, June 9. In addition to these traditionally public holidays, July 14, which falls on a Monday in 2025, and August 15, which is a Friday, are added.
It will be possible to optimize these three-day weekends a little more by scheduling, for example, Friday April 18 and the following Tuesday. Likewise in June, where Friday 6 and Tuesday 10 will allow you to benefit from five consecutive days.
11 consecutive days in May
In May, all public holidays fall on Thursdays: the 1st, the 8th, and the 29th, Ascension Day. At the start of the month, by taking only five days (the 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th), employees will be able to benefit from 11 consecutive days of rest. At the end of the month, they will be able to enjoy five consecutive days of relaxation by taking only two days (the 28th and 30th).
Summer will also be conducive to optimizing long weekends. In July, you will have to take five days (the 11th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th) to have 10 in a row. Rebelote in the month of August, where placing the 11, 12, 13, 14 and 18 will allow you to enjoy it for as long.
Concerning the end of the year, November 11 falling on a Tuesday in 2025, setting Monday 10 will be necessary to benefit from four days off consecutive. In December, Christmas falling on Thursday the 25th, you will have to leave Friday the 26th to fully enjoy the end of year celebrations with your family.
