Payment of contributions is not a condition for registration and delivery of bulletins

Lic. Ana Ríos, Departmental Coordinator of Education.

Due to widespread complaints about the collection of “voluntary contributions” in the different educational institutions, the Departmental Coordination recalled that their payment should not be a condition for the delivery of the report card and for the students to be confirmed. in their schools and colleges. They clarified that registration is automatic and that those responsible only have to confirm their continuity.

Although the voluntary contribution is set by the parents of the public institutions themselves, the controversy when confirming the continuity of the students becomes practically a custom at this time of year and many parents are prevented from confirming the continuity of their children due to not comply with established payments. The problem also occurs in some schools when collecting the report card.

That is why complaints arise in most of the public schools and colleges in the area, where the presentation of the receipts delivered by the members of the ACEs, who are in charge of managing the contributions, is “required.”

Due to this situation, the departmental education coordinator, Ana Ríos, indicated that the payment of these collaborations for school cooperative associations should not be a limitation for the confirmation of students in their institutions or for withdrawing their report cards. “Student enrollment is automatic, the contribution is with the ACE of each school and college, that is, it has zero cost and each student's place is assured, they pass directly to the next grade, the only thing parents have to do is confirm that their children are going to continue in that institution,” he explained.

The system already has the student data registered and the only formal step is to confirm in the RUE (Single Student Registry) the continuity of the minors in the respective institutions. “The lack of payment of this contribution is not a condition for the enrollment of students, this step is automatic and no one can prevent it. It cannot be denied to any child or young person,” he stressed.

In the event that parents are prevented from confirming their children in their institutions or cannot access the report cards due to lack of payment of voluntary contributions, they must resort to zonal supervision.

Ríos indicated that although the contributions are not conditioning, they are quite important for the proper functioning of public schools and colleges, since a large part of the basic needs of the institutions are covered with the collaboration of parents. “The help and cooperation of parents is very important, without their support our institutions will not be able to function as needed, such as painting, cleaning and a lot of requirements and needs. The contribution, help and presence of parents is essential to be able to maintain our schools,” he concluded.
