In the fall of 2024, the Aux grands cœurs association expressed the wish to set up offices and meeting places elsewhere than in Chizé and as close as possible to homes, in order to facilitate access for caregivers and those being cared for. in demand.
This intention was formalized in December at the village hall of Secondigné-sur-Belle where, for this session, the president of the association Laurence Choteau called on Céline Patte, a chiropodist-podiatrist who came to present her profession and the importance of foot health on preventing falls.
Around twenty participants, including Doctor Christian Quichaud who came to provide material and logistical support, were present.
A valuable ally for people at risk
The profession of chiropodist-podiatrist has been recognized since 2008 for diabetes and since 2024 for other diseases. It treats all common pathologies and symptoms such as corns, calluses and calluses, plantar warts, ingrown nails. It also takes care of foot and ankle pain. It is also a valuable ally for fragile patients. He can work with diabetics, the elderly and people with disabilities to prepare the body and prevent accidents by advising on posture and walking.
