With the Ouest Group (Brignogan), the Cinémathèque de Bretagne () and Length of Waves (Brest), the Douarnenez Cornouaille audiovisual center (Douarnenez) carries “The Archipelago of Stories” which aims to play a role of catalyst for projects and innovations, in order to strengthen the attractiveness of the territory. It is among the 25 winners of the call for expressions of interest “Territorial clusters of cultural and creative industries”, operated by the Banque des Territoires and with a total budget of €47 million. “We proposed not a large center of excellence in image and sound but an archipelago center. That is to say, there are different islands and key locations. Douarnenez is a key place for example,” explains Vanessa Le Reste, from the Douarnenez-Cornouaille audiovisual center (Pôl.e).

Second part of the call for projects in January

The idea is to create a center in western around the stories of yesterday and tomorrow. “It’s not just about writing but also about economic stories. What can we develop? How do we develop the connection with the public? We will respond to the second part of this call for projects in January. It will be a real lever from a financial point of view for the Le Guellec project,” adds filmmaker Thierry Salvert. At the end of 2020, the Le Guellec company, specializing in the cold drawing of precision tubes, left the Pouldavid industrial zone for . Douarnenez Community acquired the building to host economic projects. The Douarnenez-Cornouaille audiovisual center would see itself creating a unique place there, which would accommodate audiovisual professionals, training and structures grouped within a cooperative.
