A new Samsung One UI 6 Watch beta update is available with features like energy scores, better sleep tracking, and new gesture controls. Oddly enough, the update is not yet available for the special edition Galaxy Watches.

Samsung is offering Galaxy Watch users the chance to experience new health and sleep tracking features as part of the One UI 6 Watch Beta Program One UI 6 Watch Beta Program. The program was initially available for the Galaxy Watch6 (which aced our screen brightness test) and the Watch6 Classic; it’s now available to the Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5.

The One UI 6 Watch beta focuses on AI-powered features designed to provide users with a detailed report on their well-being. One of the key additions is Energy Scores, which combines sleep data with other metrics to assess the user’s physical and mental performance throughout the day. For better sleep analysis, the beta offers more detailed analysis of sleep quality, including information on heart rate, breathing rate, and time taken to fall asleep.

Besides sleep tracking, the beta introduces new gesture controls that allow users to navigate the interface by simply moving their wrist back and forth. Additionally, users can now choose which apps send notifications directly to their watch. The beta also brings some quality of life improvements, such as the ability to save images from messages and automatic Bluetooth connection activation when playing music on the watch, simplifying the process connection to headphones or speakers.

The official announcement of these features is expected at Samsung’s (Galaxy) Unpacked event on July 10. The good news is that Galaxy Watch6, Watch5, and Watch4 owners (excluding special editions) can download the beta program right now via the Samsung Members app and see for themselves if these new features are actually useful.
