Sites like Gizmochina and SmartDroid have noticed the start of a new major HyperOS update. Officially, Xiaomi isn’t describing the update as such. However, the volume of changes, Xiaomi’s propensity for pushing “.5” updates, and the likely arrival of HyperOS 2 with the Xiaomi 15 series this fall have led Gizmochina to coin the term “HyperOS 1.5” instead of the updates’ long build numbers.

As you can see in the screenshot below, Xiaomi has packed dozens of changes into a single firmware. Ultimately, the update mainly focuses on optimizing existing features, such as the number of preloaded apps to improve app launch speed. Additionally, Xiaomi claims to have improved memory usage, but didn’t provide any details on this.

Additionally, the new updates come with various bug fixes, a few of which are aimed at improving the behavior of HyperOS’s status and notification bars. So far, the update has started reaching the Redmi K60 Ultra, as well as the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and Xiaomi 14 Ultra (currently $1,145 on Amazon). However, Xiaomi has further limited the update distribution to China, where the company often delivers new features and system updates first. Please check the changelog and screenshot below for more details.
