Two families of smartphones have resurrected the Motorola brand in recent years. First the Motorola Moto G, one of the first mid-range Android smartphones to offer a high-quality user experience, then the Razr range which put flip smartphones with folding screens in the spotlight. . Year after year, the brand improves its formula and the Moto G85, the latest in the first family, has great arguments.

An impressive screen

The Motorola Moto G85 offers a 6.67-inch pOled screen with a maximum frequency of 120 Hz, a promised brightness of 1600 nits and a DCI-P3 10-bit color gamut. We actually tick most of the boxes for a high-end screen.

During our little hands-on session, we were rather impressed by the quality of the screen on a product in this market segment. Whether in terms of design and design finishes, the fineness of the borders, or the reproduction of colors and the fluidity of the display: the quality seemed there.

As for the photography, it is impossible to form a very constructed opinion at this stage. However, we can indicate that the brand offers a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 600 main sensor with optical stabilization and an 8-megapixel ultrawide secondary sensor. The sensor on the front offers 32 megapixels.

It now remains to be discovered when Motorola will offer this smartphone in France and at what price. The Motorola Moto G84, the previous generation, was launched at 300 euros in France. If Motorola keeps the same pricing policy, the smartphone could well be a must have this mid-year. Looking forward to testing and formalization in Europe.

NB. Our journalist Cassim Montilla went to discover the new Motorola products in New York as part of a press trip organized by the brand.
