Astronomy and aeronautics celebrated in Bourbon-Lancy

The Bourbonnian Astro-club is organizing, Friday June 28 and Saturday June 29, a unique festival, dedicated to astronomy and aeronautics, in Bourbon-Lancy. A rich program to discover at the lake, at the water sports center and at the cinema.

The Bourbonnian Astro-club (ACB) has decided to link the worlds of astronomy and aeronautics by organizing the “Festival of the 2 Universes”, Friday June 28 and Saturday June 29. Everything will happen at the Breuil lake and at the nautical base, with a few meetings at the Le Rio Borvo cinema, in Bourbon-Lancy (Saône-et-Loire). A high quality and abundant program.

It is to “popularize” these two sciences, present the professions that revolve around them and reach families and young people that the ACB has set up this major event.

Conferences, sky observations, exhibitions…

The organizers are hoping for clear skies so that everything can take place outdoors as much as possible. “The goal is to introduce the worlds of astronomy and aeronautics to as many people as possible,” confide Thierry Roig, president of the ACB, and his vice-president, Dominique Proust, emeritus astrophysicist at the Paris Observatory, who is also the festival’s patron.

Friday June 28 This day will be mainly dedicated to the city’s middle and primary school students who will be able to visit the Spatiobus of the National Center for Space Studies (Cnes), meet members of the National School of Civil Aviation (Énac) of Saint-Yan (Saône -et-Loire).

At 9 p.m., at the cinema, the general public is invited to a conference, From the new star to the death of the stars, brief history of astronomy through supernovas, by Bruno Pagani, astrophysicist.
