Starfield: Bethesda has heard the players and will evaluate the pricing of paid mods | Xbox

Earlier in the month, during the Xbox Games Showcase, Bethesda deployed an update to Starfield finally adding Creations, in other words official mod support. Although this is excellent news for the title, the game is suffering a wave of negative reviews on Steam, in particular because of the indignation aroused by the presence of paid mods. Fortunately, Todd Howard, the executive producer, confirmed that he had heard the players’ complaints.

Bethesda has heard the players and will evaluate the pricing of paid mods

In an interview with MrMattyPlays, Todd Howard confided that Bethesda will once again look at the pricing of Creations, but also evaluate those which will be offered for free.

We must evaluate both pricing, what we make available for free, how we communicate about the content of a product, and take into account the opinion of the community.

Many players are criticizing Bethesda for introducing microtransactions into Starfield. Indeed, developers, as well as verified creators, offer small amounts of paid content. The quest “Stalker Alliance Bounty: The Vulture”, costing 7 euros, is particularly controversial.

This quest is criticized, as Bethesda recently introduced the Stalker Alliance for free, allowing you to experience the life of a bounty hunter. If the first mission is free, this is not the case for the second, and other paid missions will be available in Creations in the coming weeks.

Please note that this content is purely additional and not essential to fully enjoy the Starfield experience. Additionally, a nice variety of community-created mods are starting to emerge. However, making certain quests pay is unfortunate.

For players who have opted for the Premium version of Starfield, 1000 credits are offered to spend in the Creations store, allowing the quest to be purchased for 700 credits.

The introduction of Bethesda Game Studios Creations in Skyrim Special Edition last December had already sparked outrage among many players.

While waiting for the arrival of the expansion and other new features, such as the first land vehicle, you can discover Starfield and explore Creations on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and via Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
