It was safe actually.
Manchester City formalized this Thursday evening in a press release the contract extension of its coach Pep Guardiola. The 53-year-old Catalan coach is now linked to Skyblues until 2027. With the club he joined in 2016, Guardiola won the Champions League in 2023 (the third of his career) and six of the last seven editions of the Premier League.
In its press release, the club praises its coach, recalling that the former Barcelona coach “won 353 of the 490 matches he managed (TCC), giving him an exceptional winning percentage of 72%, with 1,200 goals scored by City during this period, an average of 2.45 goals per game. For his part, Pep Guardiola declared: « This is my ninth season here, we've had so many amazing times together. I have a very special feeling for this football club. That’s why I’m so happy to stay for two more seasons. […] It has always been an honor, a pleasure and a privilege to be here. I've said this many times before, but I have everything a manager could want, and I appreciate that immensely. »
