Monoprix is releasing a fashion collection made with fabrics from major brands: luxury at a low price?

Already renowned for its collections with recognized brands (Maison Château Rouge, Laure de Sagazan, Alexis Mabille, etc.), Monoprix is further pushing the limits of its creativity and quality with its Atelier collection. This is made up of fabrics from the dormant stocks of major luxury houses like LVMH (Dior, Givenchy, Celine, Fendi, etc.) and looks more than stunning.

While mid-range fashion brands are collapsing in France, luxury and low cost are doing well.

But perhaps another path is possible with major retail brands like Monoprix, which has already accustomed the general public to fashion collaborations with cutting-edge designers?

In addition to these event collaborations (Maison Château Rouge, Laure de Sagazan, Constance Guisset, Alexis Mabille, India Mahdavi, Vincent Darré), the Monoprix collections in its name alone also stand out for their good value for money.

But now the brand is pushing the limits of its creativity and quality by drawing on LVMH’s dormant stocks, to create a collection called “Atelier”.

Why the Monoprix Atelier collection is already thrilling fashion fans

We speak of dormant stocks to designate the ends of rolls of unused fabric, these surplus materials which collect dust in the stocks of large luxury houses. But sometimes falls too. It is to sell them and so that they can be used that Nona Source was set up, a structure backed by LVMH (Loewe, Berluti, Fendi, Dior, Celine, Givenchy, and even Kenzo). Monoprix therefore drew the materials from its Atelier collection there.

The result is a collection of 11 Monoprix pieces with materials worthy of luxury, but at a much more accessible price. To achieve this, more than a year of work was necessary, between the teams of Stéphanie Michelotti (style director of Monoprix) and that of Romain Brabo (director of Nona Source), reports Fashion Network.

And who says dormant stocks, also says very limited quantity. This is why only a hundred copies per part model should be offered. All at prices sometimes lower than the initial selling price of the material, says Romain Brabo to the specialized fashion media. Noble materials require, still count around a hundred euros per piece: a long pleated skirt in virgin wool and mohair will be offered at 140 euros, a long shirt in cotton poplin tied at the waist at 110 euros) or even a coat long oversize in wool at 280 euros.
