Today’s editorial on info-chalon.com

We keep saying it, right here on info-chalon.com, the best service that the President of the Republic could provide in his fight against extremes is to remain silent. Each speech is a new blow dealt to the French, each time sending them back to face their responsibilities, as if the main person responsible for the situation was not himself at the Elysée. Mr. President, who made the decision to dissolve the National Assembly as a bad political move, inspired by a poorly interpreted Baron Noir scenario? Who made the bet that the left would be incapable of uniting against the macronie? Who considers that the French are not capable of giving orders to the extremes? Who has made the eternal bet since 2002 that ultimately the only essential political strategy to qualify was to secure a place in the final against the far right? Who made the choice to sow discord even though France is hosting the Olympic Games in a few weeks?

And now, you would like not to take responsibility for the chaos you sowed on the evening of the European election results? Frankly, in this final stretch, a few days before the first round of the legislative elections, while the game seems improbable to predict, still accusing the French of being responsible for the situation that you are making worse from year to year, turns out to be particularly dangerous.

After months and months of maximum tension around Yellow Vests, two years of health crisis with a very heavy social toll and a divide on compulsory vaccination, an explosion in energy prices and a drop in the purchasing power of the French, a pension reform imposed even though nearly one in two active seniors do not have a job, a war in Ukraine… here we are now with a political strategy that you have decided… and you would like us to carry the responsibility for what will happen at the polls next Sunday evening? Frankly, “there is no man so blind as he who does not want to see”!
