Our opinion on the Asus VivoBook Go 14 S1404FA-NK449W
Equipped with a backlit keyboard and a NumPad numeric keypad module, the inexpensive laptop PC Asus VivoBook Go 14 S1404FA-NK449W thin and light with a discreet black design benefits from a 14-inch Full HD anti-reflective screen and USB-C connectivity. Compact, thin and light, this Windows 11 laptop whose responsiveness is enhanced by the fast 512 GB SSD storage relies on a good amount of 16 GB RAM as well as an AMD Ryzen 5 7520U Mendocino Quad Core processor for good performance in everyday use.

The Asus VivoBook Go 14 S1404FA-NK449W faces the competition
The Asus VivoBook Go 14 S1404FA-NK449W is currently available at Asus UK and is positioned as one of the only ones in its category to offer a numeric keypad thanks to its tactile NumberPad but also such a recent processor as well as a backlit keyboard in a black color.

Chassis, connections, screen of the Asus VivoBook Go 14 S1404FA-NK449W
With its lightweight, compact and thin Mixed Black black design certified to the MIL-STD-810H military robustness standard, this laptop PC has a very sober look.
This laptop offers good connectivity with its USB-C, its practical HDMI video output to easily connect it to a monitor or a TV for example, its audio port, its Wi-Fi 5 ac and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless modules for wireless remote connections and communications or its 2 USBs, USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) ensuring transfers are carried out up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are connected.
Good point, the chiclet keyboard is equipped with a backlighting solution for the keys that can be activated when you want to better distinguish your keys in the dark.
Like any model whose format is more compact than 15 inches, this computer lacks the necessary space to the right of the keyboard to accommodate a physical numeric keypad.
We appreciate that to make it easier to enter numbers, Asus integrates its NumberPad technology here. When enabled, NumPad converts the touchpad into a tactile numeric keypad.
Those who enjoy watching Full HD content and videos will be delighted that the screen has a definition higher than the standard 1366×768 as well as a 16:9 format. As it is anti-reflective treated, the screen guarantees better visibility than a shiny panel in a bright environment (eg outdoors).
Performance, battery life of the Asus VivoBook Go 14 S1404FA-NK449W
The Asus VivoBook Go 14 S1404FA-NK449W is a simple, compact laptop PC designed for everyday use.
It delivers good performance to be comfortable in this area, such as surfing the Internet and office use but also for watching photos and HD videos.
Because it is driven by a low-consumption AMD Mendocino Quad Core Ryzen 5 7200U processor in which the Radeon 610M graphics part takes place. The Ryzen 5 is supported in its task by a good amount of 16 GB RAM which is very useful for multitasking.
On the other hand, gaming is not the target of this laptop which nevertheless benefits from good responsiveness and fluidity provided by its core but also by its SSD storage.
Let’s remember on this subject that in addition to being more resistant to shocks, quieter and more energy efficient than a hard drive, an SSD is much faster.
Starting/stopping is therefore much faster with an SSD than with a hard drive, as is performing (light) processing and launching applications for example.
Like the vast majority of (much more expensive) models on the market, the integrated SSD here offers a capacity of 512 GB, equivalent to what hard drives offer as standard.
If, however, you need additional space, you can use an external storage device. To obtain fast transfers, we will favor a USB 3.0/USB-C module.
As for the autonomy of this computer, which can be transported as easily as an Ultrabook because it is light, compact and thin, expect around 5 hours of battery operation in light use.
