Monday May 20, in Hornchurch, north-east of London, an American Bully XL fatally attacked a woman in her fifties.

Attacked at home

A woman in her fifties was the victim of an attack at her home by a purebred dog American Bully XL. The events took place in the London suburb of Hornchurch. Despite the intervention of emergency services, the victim did not survive his injuries and was declared dead at the scene shortly after, relays BFMTV. Police captured two dogs at the scene and confined them to a room while the victim was treated. These dogs belong to the breed American Bully XLa breed that could soon be banned in the United Kingdom.

“…a danger to our communities”

The tragedy of this Monday, May 20 is unfortunately not an isolated case. In 2022, theAmerican Bully XL was involved in six of the ten fatal dog attacks recorded in the United Kingdom. In order to prevent future violent attacks and guarantee public safety, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak declared in a video shared on X his intention to ban this breed of dog. “L’American Bully XL is a danger to our communities, especially our children.”did he declare. “I share the nation’s horror at the recent videos we have all seen.”
