Luke Woodworth scored two goals and the Drummondville Voltigeurs defeated the Quebec Remparts 5-1 on Friday night.
16-year-old prospect Maddox Dagenais returned to action for the Remparts after an absence of a month and a half due to a concussion. He collected one assist.
Simon-Pier Brunet and Adam Cavallin each had a goal and an assist for the Voltigeurs, who improved their record to 8-0-1 in their last nine games.
Yoan Tassé obtained two assists and Louis-Félix Charrois stopped 23 shots.
The Voltigeurs (23-5-3) sit at the top of the QMJHL standings with 49 points.
Justin Côté scored the only goal for the Remparts, who saw their three-game winning streak halted. Benjamin Lelièvre stopped 40 shots.
Late Armada push
Justin Carbonneau scored two goals, including one 22 seconds from the end of the third period to tie the game, and the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada defeated the Chicoutimi Saguenéens 5-4 in a shootout.
Olivier Filaj and Jonathan Fauchon also made the red light shine for the Armada in regulation time. Mateo Nobert was the only scorer in the shootout. Rémi Delafontaine blocked 35 shots.
Connor Haynes, Nathan Lecompte, Félix Gagnon and Emmanuel Vermette responded for the Saguenéens. Raphaël Précourt stopped 30 shots.
The Phoenix rises from its ashes against the Olympics
The Sherbrooke Phoenix scored three goals in the third period and won 4-3 in a shootout against the Gatineau Matériaux.
Olivier Dubois, Hugo Primeau and Lewis Gendron, in order, tied the game 3-3 before seeing Mavrick Lachance score the only goal of the shootout. Linards Feldbergs stopped 17 shots.
Isaiah Parent, twice, and Julien Paillé gave theOlympics a 3-0 lead. Nathan St-Pierre stopped 28 pucks.
Lacelle whitewashes the Drakkar
William Lacelle blocked all 26 shots aimed at him and obtained the only shutout of the evening in the QMJHL in a 2-0 victory for the Rimouski Océanic over the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.
Dominic Pilote and Maxime Coursol found the back of the net.
Lucas Beckman did well in the loss, stopping 36 shots.
Lachance guides the Cataractes with a hat trick
Jacob Lachance scored a hat trick to help the Shawinigan Cataractes defeat the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies by a score of 4-3.
Vince Elie also found the back of the net for the Cataractes. Owen Bresson stopped 28 shots.
Samuel Rousseau, Axel Dufresne and Harijs Cjunskis responded for the Huskies. Samuel Meloche made 20 saves.
Double from Reinhart for the Foreurs
Noah Reinhart scored two goals to help the Val-d’Or Foreurs defeat the Victoriaville Tigres 6-4.
William Bishop, Nathan Baril, Donovan Arseneault and Nathan Brisson also scored for the Foreurs. Cédric Massé blocked 15 shots.
Justin Larose scored a hat trick for the Tigres and was an accomplice on Justin Gendron’s goal. Gabriel D’Aigle stopped 39 shots.
Campbell transport the Islanders
Ross Campbell scored a goal and two assists to lead the Charlottetown Islanders to a 4-1 victory over the Halifax Mooseheads.
Nathan Leek, Jude Herron and Simon Hughes also found the back of the net for the Islanders. Donald Hickey made 27 saves.
Cole MacLeod scored the Mooseheads’ only goal.
Smith decides for the Wildcats
Gabe Smith settled the debate in overtime and the Moncton Wildcats defeated the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 3-2.
Caleb Desnoyers and Vincent Collard scored in regulation for the Wildcats (23-5-2), who sit atop the East with 48 points.
Ty Peddigrew and Colby Huggan responded for the Titan.
The Sea Dogs have the last word in overtime
Egan Beveridge scored his fourth goal of the campaign, in overtime, to lead the St John Sea Dogs to a 5-4 victory over the Cape Breton Eagles.
Olivier Groulx, twice, Zachary Morin and Florian Schenk also moved the ropes for the Sea Dogs. Charles-Édward Gravel stopped 33 shots.
Émile Ricard, Tomas Lavoie, Cam Squires and Cole Burbudge responded for the Eagles. Brandon Lavoie made 30 saves.
