Pierre Dréossi after the hostile reception from supporters: “I think things have calmed down”

Before the officialization of his arrival at RC Lens as general manager, Pierre Dréossi was the subject of hostile banners, placed in particular at the Gaillette by supporters’ associations. Lille’s past, as a player then sporting and general director, is difficult to move on from.

He did, however, have the opportunity to meet with the supporters’ associations shortly after his arrival. And he feels that tensions have eased. He explains: “ We received the supporters very quickly. They told me that my Lille past was still remembered but after discussions, I think it has calmed down rather. They understood that we were on a project. I was in Lille more than 22 years ago. For some, there is a real sense of the derby between Lille and Lens, but it is a bit simplistic to think that I am simply from Lille. Since then I have done a lot of things and I think that the project we are going to put in place, the results we will have, will gradually erase that. »

Since his time at Lille from 1996 to 2002 after playing there from 1976 to 1983, Pierre Dréossi has worked in different roles at Stade Rennais, Paris FC, Panathinaikos and Metz.
