Away from the Tour de France, Julian Alaphilippe has filled up with confidence. A very good omen for the rest of the season and the Paris Olympics in particular.
To best prepare for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (from July 26 to August 11), the major objective of his season, Julian Alaphilippe has decided to skip the Tour de France (from June 29 to July 21). Last week,
he thus participated in the Tour of Slovakiawhere he had fun, in addition to building up his confidence.
Second in the general classification, the French puncher won a stage and the green jersey in the points classification. A more than satisfactory result for Marion Rousse’s companion, suggesting good prospects for the rest of the season.
Alaphilippe: “It gives me a lot of confidence for the next races”
“It was great to be here (at the Tour of Slovakia) again, in the country of our sponsor Janom, confided “Alaf” in comments reported by
Cyclism’-. I think we can be satisfied with our race. Personally, if we put aside the French Championships, it was my first appearance since the Giro d’Italia, and I am satisfied with the results and my form.”
And Alaphilippe continued: “The whole team gave their best and I am proud of my young teammates, who showed the Wolfpack spirit all week. Starting my second half of the season with a win, a podium and a distinctive jersey gives me a lot of confidence for the upcoming races.”
