XV OF FRANCE. Premiere of Frisch and Jurand, Serin as boss? The probable line-up of the Blues against Argentina

A pack with a multitude of possibilities

For the first composition of the summer of the XV of France, Fabien Galthié and his staff will have to rack their brains! In the absence of the main executives, and the potential winners of the Top 14, the team which will face the Pumas will have a completely different face than during the last 6 Nations Tournament.

Obviously, without the Toulouse people, this starting XV and this pack no longer really have the same face, but a significant pool is available to the French staff. To remain competitive and launch young players into the deep end, several players already accustomed to the international scene will support the young shoots.

To start, Jean-Baptiste Gros, Gaëtan Barlot and Georges-Henri Colombe should be starters, all of whom have already played for the French team. On the bench, we also expect experienced players with Sébastien Taofifenua, Teddy Baubigny and Demba Bamba.

In the cage, it should be much younger, because the team that could start was that of the French under-20 team last summer. Hugo Auradou represents a credible solution at number 4, while Posolo Tuilagi could take advantage of the absence of Meafou, Flament, Woki but also Taofifenua to become a starter again.

For the third row, the possibilities are almost endless and many players deserve their place. However, at number 8, Jordan Joseph seems to be one step ahead of his competitors. On the flanks of the scrum, Lenni Nouchi could experience his first selection with a start while the valiant Judicaël Cancoriet could be rewarded for his successful season with a return to Blue, six years after his last selection!

RUGBY. Top 14 final. Toulouse without Meafou to face Bordeaux, Lebel hoped

Coolest boss

Will this finally be Baptiste Serin’s hour of glory in the French team? After a missed meeting during the last World Cup, total disillusionment with an injury last February for the 6 Nations, all the lights seem green for this summer tour.

The most capped player on the list of 42, Serin could even wear the captain’s armband, as evidenced by his numerous speeches during collective training. The Toulon player will, without much surprise, start against the Pumas, and should be accompanied by another member of the French XV in recent years, in the person of Antoine Hastoy.

For the pair of centers, no Fickou in sight, nor Danty or even Depoortere, but indeed the most Irish of the French, Antoine Frisch. The future Toulon player should be lined up as first centre, with Émilien Gailleton as a partner. This association seemed to be convincing against Romania.

On the wings, places are up for grabs without the Bordeaux and Toulouse players and Joris Jurand could jump at the opportunity. The Clermontois is having a great season and his tenure would not be a real surprise. On the other hand, it is certainly the revelation of the year in Top 14, the Palois Théo Attissogbe deserves his place for this tour, and he should quickly experience his first international minutes.

At the back, the choice remains delicate between Melvyn Jaminet, who started in Blue not so long ago, and Léo Barré, who can play in different positions, but who played the last 6 Nations Tournament with the number 15 on the back. It should therefore be the young Parisian who starts the meeting.
