Will Nayef Aguerd answer the call from Ligue 1? According to the French press, the Moroccan international is in the sights of several French clubs including his former team, Stade Rennais.

With an inevitable departure from West Ham where he benefited from very little playing time after a season marked by injuries, Nayef Aguerd could bounce back in a championship that he knows very well and where he has stood out: League 1.

Indeed, according to information relayed by Football Insider, Olympique de Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais, RC Lens as well as his former club Rennes would compete for his favors for a transfer this summer. However, Rennes would be a track favored by the Moroccan defender since he shone in the team from 2020 to 2022.

The Atlas Lion has several options, notably in Spain where Atletico Madrid had expressed some interest in the 28-year-old player.

On the Gulf side, several Saudi teams are also on the lookout with financial offers which could well exceed the expectations of the player but also of the club which is demanding the sum of 40 million euros to release him.

Aguerd played in just one of the Hammers’ final 11 Premier League games of the season. He also featured six times in West Ham’s run to the Europa League quarter-finals. The Moroccan defender played both matches in his team’s defeat to Bayer Leverkusen. West Ham lost 3-1 on aggregate to Xabi Alonso’s side.
