The native of Argenteuil has, however, struggled to convince since the start of the season when high hopes were placed on him. The player has disappeared from the starting 11 Roberto DeZerbi lately. His interest in the transfer window from several European clubs worked in his favor and the more time passes, the less likely the purchase option will be taken.
Brassiere biggest flop?
When taking stock of this first part of the 2024-2025 season, Lilian Brassier appears to be the worst recruit in the Marseille summer transfer window with Elye Wahi notably. The journalist Nicolas Filhol afraid of his disappointment. “In my opinion it's Brassier because I expected a lot from this player, I really thought he was going to settle into this defense with Balerdi. This is why I am even more disappointed. He is a player who had been coveted by Porto, by Monaco as well” he declares for the Marseille Football Club.
A useless purchase option?
By signing at theABOUT last summer for a loan with purchase option, Lilian Brassier should pay for his first months in the Olympian jersey and return to the side of Brest at the end of the season. The former Rennais is however estimated at €10M according to the site Transfer market but he will not have succeeded in meeting the expectations placed on him after a full season in Brittany, allowing the club to experience a crazy adventure in the Champions League for the moment.
